Weekly Draw

Pile of pink raffle tickets scattered randomly.

What is an e-ticket?

It is a short-term digital document valid until the next random raffle. It's generated after both parties (customer & service staff member) accepts participation for the next weekly draw.

Paid customers have the benefit of "e-ticket multiplier" for the weekly draft. Above the first 500 accumulated points, for each block of 250 points, the system generates a clone of the original e-ticket.

What is the Weekly Draw Fee?

At payment time using TipLooper app, once the customer agrees to pay the extra fee for next weekly draw, the service staff member must contribute with the same (or a lesser) amount. In case of winning any of the weekly prizes, the money will be splitted and transfered to each TipLooper's e-wallet (credit for purchase account) in the same percentage according to their individual contribution to the bucket.

How Weekly Draw Fee is Calculated?

This extra fee is based on a fixed amount of $0.35 USD for each $50.00 USD of original invoice amount (including taxes).

For example, for a $100.00 USD receipt, and $10.00 USD tip, the TipLooper's payment amount for the customer will be: $110.70 USD. If service staff member accepts pay the same "Weekly Draw Fee" amount, will be transfered to his e-wallet the amount of: $9.30 USD. This means the total that goes to the weekly bucket will be $1.40 USD.

Not interested in Weekly Draw? No Problem

When customer does not want to participate of the weekly draw, the TipLooper's payment process ends offering a 10 bonus points to the service staff member.

Post Payment Quick Survey

Few minutes after the payment process ends, the system sends a message thru the mobile app to invite the customer to take a quick survey about the last experience. This process is very important for TipLooper to collect, analize these data and give a feedback to our business partners.

After finishing the quick survey, TipLooper offers a 10 bonus points to the customer.

Random Selection Rules

The weekly electronic draft are held on Mondays 7pm EST at the headquarters of TipLooper.

TipLooper takes up to 20% of the accumulated weekly prize as "Logistics Fee", the rest is distributed among customers and service staff members.

The prize is transfered to the winners' e-wallet ("Credit for Purchases" account) just after the draft.

Only e-tickets generated from last Monday (7 days previous to the draft) up to Sunday (day before the draft) are elegible for the draft. The picker algorithm is a basic random selector from database list. That means everyone of them have the same odds to be selected, the variance is the quantity of winner picks for each prize based on "Customer Index" value.

Following rules apply for e-ticket selection:

  • e-tickets with active customers and active service staff members at the moment of the draft are elegible for any prize in USD. Otherwise those e-tickets will receive bonus points.
  • A single customer or service staff member can be elegible for multiple prizes.
  • Once an e-ticket was preselected in a prize calculation, can not be taken in consideration for other prizes (4th prize - 6th prize).
  • At the end, all unselected/non winner e-tickets from prize selections wins the bonus point.
  • For each winner e-ticket, the prize is splitted (between the customer and service staff member) according to percent of their individual contribution to the bucket.

Winner Selection based on Customer Index Value (CIV)

For prizes on group #2 (based of percentage of unselected e-tickets) the calculation of final winning picks is based on CIV formula. The following steps apply for every prize:

  1. Calculate the preliminary count of unselected e-tickets (left from previous prize selection) using the base percent value of the prize (5%,10%, 20%) and multiplying it by the total of unselected e-tickets.
  2. Get the preliminary list of e-tickets by picking randomly according to the number calculated in step 1.
  3. Get unique list of customers from the preliminary list on step 2 and calculate their individual CIV (number from 0 to 3).
  4. Calculate the global average CIV. Get their corresponding percent value according to the table below.
  5. Get the final count of winners by multiplying percent value (step 4) by the total of preliminary e-tickets.
  6. Pick randomly the final list of winners based on the final count of step 5.

Percent based on average CIV range:

                     Range                          %

                     --------------------------   ------

                     less than 1:                25%

                     between 1.0 and 1.6: 50%

                     between 1.7 and 2.3: 75%

                     greather than 2.3:    100%

What is the Customer Index Value (CIV)?

It's a simple indicator (KPI) of how much valuable is a customer for TipLooper comparing him/her against other pre selected customers for an specific prize.

The possible values goes from 0 to 3:

  • 0: Low Valuable Customer
  • 1: Mid Low Valuable Customer
  • 2: Mid High Valuable Customer
  • 3: High Valuable Customer

This KPI has 3 base variables:

  • Amount of money placed in the bucket the last 6 months.
  • Total of e-tickets generated in the last 6 months.
  • Indicator If customer has a paid suscription OR still on his first 5 e-tickets, then variable value will be 1 otherwise is 0.

On every prize preselection step, if a new customer is detected, these 3 variables are calculated and are valid for the whole draw process in case the customer is preselected again in other prize.

Once all preselected customers has been identified, the system calculates the average of "Amount of Money" and "Total of e-tickets". If customer's values are above their corresponding average value then 1 point is added to customer's CIV for each one. The final formula is:

       CIV = IIF("Amount" > "Avg Amount", 1,0) + IIF ("Total" > "Avg Total", 1, 0) + "Indicator"
